EDC Deals is a buying-guide site about everyday carry gear: pocket knives, multitools, flashlights, wallets, bags and organizers, watches, and the concealed-carry, range and ammunition equipment that sits alongside them.
Who is behind it
Behind the scenes, we’re a close-knit family of four, each bringing a completely different lens to the table. One of us weighs how a knife or a light actually carries day to day, another reads the spec sheet for what it does not say, another asks what a thing costs against what it would replace. Those varied perspectives, individual quirks and spirited family debates shape every guide we publish.
How we decide what to recommend
We want to be straight about our method, because it sets the limits of what our recommendations are worth.
- Specifications come from the manufacturer. Steel type, lock, dimensions, weight, water resistance and warranty are taken from the maker’s own published material, and we say so when a figure is a manufacturer claim rather than an independent measurement.
- Prices and availability are a snapshot. We check normal pricing across established retailers at the time of writing. Prices move, colors get discontinued and stock runs out; a product’s inclusion reflects the market when we looked, not a promise about today.
- Performance figures are attributed. Where we cite edge retention, ballistic results, lumen output or similar, we name the independent test we are relying on rather than presenting it as our own.
- We do not currently claim hands-on testing of every product we cover. Where we have used something ourselves we say so plainly. Where we have not, our recommendation is a considered read of specifications, documented testing and the trade-offs between models — which is useful, but it is not the same thing, and we would rather you knew the difference.
How we make money
EDC Deals earns commission when a reader buys through a link on this site. We participate in the Amazon Associates Program and other affiliate programs, which means we earn from qualifying purchases. We also display advertising.
This never changes the price you pay, and it does not decide what we recommend. A product does not get a better write-up for paying more, and we include the drawbacks of things we recommend. If a product is only worth buying for a narrow use, we say which one. See our affiliate disclosure for the full statement.
Corrections
Specifications change, links rot and we get things wrong. If you spot an error — a wrong measurement, a discontinued model, a dead link, or a recommendation you think is simply bad — tell us at contact@taylorco.net and we will check it and fix it. Substantive corrections are noted on the article.

Some of what we publish concerns firearms, ammunition, holsters and self-defense equipment. That material is informational. It is not legal advice, and it is not training.
Laws differ by country, state and city, and they change. Blade length limits, carry rules, magazine capacity and what may be shipped to you are all local questions. Verify the current law where you are before buying or carrying anything, and get qualified instruction before handling a firearm. Nothing here overrides a manufacturer’s own safety instructions.
